Confirm the PC requirement

Due to hardware dependencies, some PCs may have boot up problem.
Therefore, it is recommended that you confirm by the original distribution beforehand which can be downloaded from the URLs below and burned onto CD-R .

  in case of Linux
One of the easiest way may be to use the command "cdrecord" as below:
# cdrecord -v dev=0.0.0 -eject speed=4 filename.iso.

replace dev and speed according to your environment.
  in case of Mac OS
drop the downloaded iso image into the left collum of disk utility.
and select "make disk".
  in case of Windows
Follow the iso image burning procedure of your burning application.
If you do not have one, you can use for example, the free software
"CD Manipulator".
Refer to the "Burning the iso image by the CD Manipulator"
  in case of WindowsXP
You can follow the procedure addressed in the following URL. http://www.microsoft.com/
  in case of Windows other than XP
Please use the zip decompression tool.
  in case of Mac OS
You can extract by just double clicking download file.
execute the following:
unzip <filename>

 

 
Setting BIOS for using myPdisc.



How to set BIOS
there are briefly three types of BIOSs: Award BIOS, Phoenix BIOS and AMI BIOS.

1.2.1 Setting up AMI BIOS
(1) press F2 key immediately after you put the power ON.
(2) if displayed "AMIBIOS HIFLEX SETUP ....", select "Boot device Setting" by pressing
up/down arrow kys snd press Enter.
(3)if displayed "AMIBIOS SETUP - BOOT DEVICE SETUP", select "1st boot Device" by
pressing up/down arrow keys. Place the CDROM on the right side of "1st Boot Device" by
pressing Page Up (PgUp)/ Page Down (PgDn) keys. Then press Esc key.
(4) if you have returned to the page (2). press F10 key.
(5) if displayed "Save Current settings and exit?" select "Yes" and press Enter.
(6) PC will boot up.

1.2.2 Setting up Phoenix BIOS
(1) press F2 key immediately after you put the power ON.
(2) if displayed "Phoenix BIOS Setup Utility", Select "Boot" by pressing the right/left
arrow keys. Then select "Removable divices" by pressing the Up/Down arrow keys.
then press F10.
(3) if displayed "Save configuration changes and exit now?", select "Yes" and press Enter.
(4) PC will boot up.

1.2.3 Setting up (traditional) Award BIOS
(1) press F1 key immediately after you put the power ON.
(2) Select "Main" by pressing right/left arrow keys and press Enter.
(3) if displayed "Boot Options", select "First BootDivice" by the up/down keys and press
Enter.
(4) if menu is displayed on the center, select "CDROM (or USB CDROM for external)" by
the up/down keys and press Enter.
(5) if menu on the center goes off, press F10.
(6) if displayed "Exit Saving Changes?", press Enter.
(7) PC will Boot up.

1.2.4 Setting up Phoenix type Award BIOS

(1) press Delete (Del) key immediately after you put the power on.
(2) if displayed "Phoenix ? Award BIOS CMOS Setup Utility", select "Advanced BIOS Features"
by the up/down arrow keys and press Enter.
(3) if displayed "Advanced BIOS Feature", select "CDROM for the First Boot Device".
(4) select "Save & Exit Seup" or press F10.
(5) PC will boot up.

displayed items can be a little different from model to model

brief instructions:
* use right/left/up/down
* selecting item and pressing Enter goes to the detail
* Pressing ESC is the same as Exit Without Saving
* pressing F10 is the same as "Save & Exit Setup"
